After 20 years, Odysseus finally returns to Ithaca, where he finds his wife imprisoned by suitors claiming the throne, and his son threatened with death at their hands. To bring back his family and everything he lost, Odysseus must regain his strength. For the third time, Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche are filming together in one movie. They previously worked together in “Stormy Pass” (1992) and “The English Patient” (1996). Penelope: How can men find their way to war but not find their way home? Odysseus: For some, war becomes home. This thesis focuses on immersing the viewer in the multifactorial pain and suffering of Penelope and Odysseus after Odysseus returns home to Ithaca. This paper appears to be a fairly systematic study of the problems many soldiers face when returning from active duty, including post-traumatic stress disorder. and other mental health issues, returning to one’s former life with family and society, and memories and pain as experienced, both causing and resulting from internal changes that are irreversible. “The Return” is supported by a great cast that allows the viewer to feel this rollercoaster on which the two main characters rise to remarkable heights, the latter due to the unique and special resilience of both Penelope and Odysseus in this difficult situation. time in their lives without support for each other. In fact, the two stay pretty far apart for most of the build-up, which only makes the catharsis more intense in the otherwise slower film’s more intense, thriller-like finale. Fiennes brings his unique style of depicting suffering to this work, adding to his remarkable repertoire of his related depictions of pain and suffering in The Spider and The End of The Novel. Binoche is the perfect choice for Penelope, as the viewer can be slightly tricked into feeling and hoping that the two would meet again in the same way they were close throughout The English Patient, and Pasolini uses this to create additional tension in this piece. for those whose memory of “The English Patient” is vivid. This is a great and highly relevant job that requires experience!
